About this component
Connect to any REST-based translation API. Supports configurable base URL, authentication methods, and request formats. Ideal for self-hosted translation services or custom integrations.

- SECURITY: requests to link-local / cloud-metadata addresses (including IPv4-mapped IPv6) are blocked and redirects are disabled; private/LAN and loopback hosts remain allowed for self-hosted backends.
- SECURITY: the API key is redacted from logged errors and never exposed in log output when query-parameter auth is used.
- Translation responses must be strings and are size-capped, so a compromised endpoint cannot return arbitrary objects or unbounded data.
- Batch translation no longer substitutes untranslated source text for a missing item (which stored source text under the target locale); it falls back to per-item requests that fail closed.
